Srinagar, Mar 13 : Jammu and Kashmir police chief Dilbagh Singh on Saturday said that around 200 militants are active in J&K and 250 militants are present at launch pads across LOC & IB.
As per Kashmir Despatch DGP said our security grid is very strong and many plans of militants that are aimed at disrupting peace have been foiled.
While praising the J&K police DGP said, the work which is in a credit of J&K Police is unmatched in any police force of the country.
“The improvement in the situation we see is because of this work. I congratulate every member of J&K Police force.,” he said.
About sticky-bombs, the DGP said sticky bombs are a threat as they have magnets that can be used (by militant outfits) to target civilian cars. He said we will ensure to prevent such attacks and the threat that exits will be faced by the police and other agencies.
Meanwhile, Police in a statement to Kashmir Despatch said that Sopore Police received information about a militant crime incident at Bus Stand Sopore where militants hurled a grenade at Police Post Bus Stand.
The statement stated that a Preliminary investigation revealed that militants had hurled a grenade at Police Post Bus Stand Sopore in which two police personnel namely Mohammad Afzal and Azad Ahmad received minor injuries.
Both the injured officials were taken to a nearby hospital for the treatment of their injuries.
Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this militant crime the statement reads.
