Srinagar, Mar 23 : The undergraduate 5th semester students of Kashmir University (KU) are distressed as it has issued a date-sheet after only a month of class work reported news agency KDC.

Students of 5th semester batch 2018 questioned the academic system of university saying they have started classes on February 15 this year, how come they will be prepared to appear in exams only after a gap of only one month.

“The classes were started in a staggered manner with classes on two days of a week, we haven’t completed 60% of syllabus”, said one of the students.

The university has issued a date-sheet with exams commencing from 29th of this month and only a two day gap between the papers.

Controller Examinations KU, Professor Irshad Ahmad Nawchoo said that they framed the date-sheet only after the consent from college Principals.

He said, “We frame the date-sheet on the basis of when colleges inform us that they have completed the course and syllabus”.

“We received numerous soft copy requests from the students to conduct exams as they had lost one academic year due to pandemic and their another session shouldn’t get wasted”, he added.

Students from many Kashmir colleges are protesting against the KU authorities, likely students from Women’s College Baramulla yesterday blocked Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
