Srinagar, May 01 : After a surge in new Covid-19 cases since the last two three weeks, top doctors on Saturday advised citizens to stay back at their homes and not to panic.
They said that if we’ve to defeat the disease, we’ll have to remain at our homes, maintain physical distance, wear masks and save healthcare workers.
“Many healthcare workers are testing positive. If we save healthcare workers, they’ll be able to save patients. If we save both, only then will we be able to save our people, family and friends. It’s linked,” one doctor talking with Kashmir Despatch.
He said that we will have to break the chain, we will have to bring down the number of patients by staying back at our homes and staying safe.
In a message, one of the doctors working at Srinagar hospital through Kashmir Despatch appealed to people that the situation is very grim and the only thing right now is to break the chain by not going for panic shopping, avoid gatherings and by maintaining social distancing.
“If the situation goes like this we won’t be having any vacant bed or oxygen in our hospital. Let’s take a pledge that we won’t roam around unnecessarily but cooperate with administration in implementing the covid lockdown,” the doctor added.
The doctors said that people should not visit markets unnecessarily and avoid gatherings.
“It is better to stay indoors as the situation is going to be disastrous if people will not adhere to proper SOPs laid by healthcare department ” they added.
