Sopore police in a unique way used private vehicles to keep the covid lockdown violators at bay. The teams of police visited several localities in Sopore to spread awareness among people asking them to stay indoors in order to fight the deadly virus.
SHO Sopore Azim Iqbal Khan talking with Kashmir Despatch said that the police teams are out on roads for people and for their safety and protection.
“The police is bound to spread awareness among the people so that we can fight against this virus collectively. We are taking strict measures against all those violating the rules,” Azim said.
He said there are sections of people who are not following guidelines and are becoming hell bent for the society and especially their families.
” We appeal the people to follow guidelines and to cooperate with administration to fight against this virus,” he added.
SHO Sopore said that police teams used private vehicles to keep the violators at bay.
“We are keeping a close watch on the situation. There are people who are violating governmnet laid guidelines. Today the police teams used private vehicles and conducted searches in few areas where people were reportedly seen in large gatherings for no reason. A strict action will be taken against the covid lockdown violators,” Azim added.
The officer said that those who will not follow orders will be dealt strictly.
He said that police has nothing to gain from strict measures but safety of people.
“We are here for people and their safety. We don’t want to see our people dying or suffering due to pandemic. Anyone who is in need of any kind of help can call us. We are there to help our people 24×7,” Azim said.
