Srinagar, June 28 : At least nine district development council (DDC) members have mover a no-confidence motion against DDC chairperson and vice-chairperson of district Srinagar.
In a resolution signed by the members, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), they have stated that they resolve to move no-confidence motion against DDC chairperson and vice-chairperson of Srinagar.
As per the resolution, they have requested deputy commissioner Srinagar to convene a special meeting of the members in terms of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Raj Act, so that resolution is moved in the meeting and voting is done, and chairperson and vice-chairperson are removed from the post.
Meanwhile, an official said that deputy commissioner Srinagar has sought time from them to decide further action under provisions of JK Panchayati Raj Act.
“Amid no clear cut provisions to remove chairperson and vice-chairperson, DC Srinagar has sought time to clarify things technically,” he said. (KNS)
