Anantnag; 29 July :Anantnag police continuing its war against the Drug menace arrests a drug peddler and recovered huge consignment of poppy straw.
Police Station Mattan received an information through reliable sources that one Mohd Shafi Najar S/O Gh Mohammad Najar resident of Mattipora Nanil has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded large quantity of Poppy straw in his residential house. Accordingly case under relevant sections of NDPS Act got registered in police station Mattan and investigation taken up, a search team comprising of SHO P/S Mattan and Executive Magistrate Mattan was constituted who carried out the search of the house. During search of the house about 500 KG’s of Poppy Straw was recovered from the residential house of said Mohd Shafi Najar which was seized on spot and accused arrested. Further investigation in the instant case continues.
