Urged Jharkhand CM to take effective measures to prevent such happenings
Nasir Khuehami here Saturday here on Saturday condemned the unjustified attack on Kashmiri garment sellers in Ranchi Jharkhand who were brutally thrashed by goons and forcing them to raise slogans of Jai shri Ram.
In a Statement, National Spokesperson of J&K Students Association Nasir Khuehami said that three Kashmiri garment sellers had been thrashed badly, with the attackers calling them “anti-nationals” and demanding that they return to Kashmir immediately.
He said that accused started assaulting them when they refused to chant Jai Shri Ram and they were saved only when local people intervened, similar assaults have occurred against other Kashmiri youths several times in the recent past.
Khuehami said that these incidents have increased the sense of insecurity and anxiety among 300 Kashmiri Woollen traders. He called upon the state and the J&K Govt to take effective measures to prevent such happenings and adress the waning sense of security among the Kashmir garment sellers and workers living in Jharkhand State.
Khuehami said he has taken up the matter with J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and JK Govt is in touch with their Jharkhand Counterpart CM. He has been informed that police have taken full measures to protect all Kashmiri garment sellers & also take measures to see that the Relationship Between Kashmiri wollen sellers & others remains cordial.
He demanded probe and immediate arrest of all those involved in the assault on Kashmiri wollen sellers and ensure adequate arrangements for their safety and security. The Attack on Kashmiri people is a worrying factor for the workers, sellers and businessmen who are working in Jharkhand. We demand punishment and arrest for the elements involved in beating and harassing the Kashmiri students, he added.
