Illicit timber seized in Ganderbal : Police

Ganderbal : Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday seized a large quantity of illicit timber from one of the smuggler in the district.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch reads,
Acting upon a reliable information, SHO Police Station Kangan Inspector Turk Zahoor under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri- JKPS raided a place at Waniarm Wangath and seized illegal timber from the possession of one person namely Gh Mohd Khan S/o Mohd Akbar Khan R/o Waniarm Wangath Kangan.

In this regard Case FIR No. 139/2021 U/S 379 IPC, 26 IF ACT has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation into matter has been taken up.

Acting tough against timber smugglers, Ganderbal Police assures that the drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of Green Gold from the plunder.
