‘People hail the efforts of SDPO Rafiabad in curbing the drug menace in the area’

In the ongoing process of eradicating the drug menace from the society, Sopore police from Rafiabad area seized a huge consignment of drugs and arrested the people associated with it.
A police official said that upon reliable information from a source a special team under the SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Ameen Bhat-JKPS established a Naka at Ladoora crossing and intercepted 4 people with 1008 capsules of SPASTRANCAN Plus, 720 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus and 288 Capsules.
The arrested people have been identified as 21 years old Muhammad Ramzan Dar, son of Bashir Ah Dar, a resident of Ladoora Rafiabad, 32 year old Nazir Ah Sheikh, son of Muhammad Sultan Sheikh, a resident of Nadihal Rafiabad, Umer Yousuf son of Mohd yousuf Lone, a resident of Nadihal Rafiabad and Farooq Ahmad Ambar son of Ghulam Nabi Ambar, a resident of Tarzoo Amberpora and.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch SDPO Rafiabad said that more arrests are expected and all links and threads are being analysed minutely to nab the culprits who are involved in the conspiracy.
Meanwhile a case FIR No 195/2021, U/S 8/22 and 29 of NDPS Act stands lodged at Police Station Dangiwacha and a SIT has been constituted to investigate the case thoroughly.
The arrests and seizure of such a huge consignment of drugs has sections of the society hailing the measures taken by police.

“Amin Sir is doing an incredible job and we are happy to have such an honest and dedicated police officer at Rafiabad. Drug dealers are on a run and the crime graph is witnessing a downfall. We hope that he and his team will keep the good work going on,” said Mudassir Ahmad, a youth from Rafiabad belt.
More a dozen drug dealers and peddlers have been arrested and huge consignments of drugs have been seized by the Rafiabad police under the supervision of the said officer.
Meanwhile Sopore Police has requested for kind cooperation from public so that all the drug peddlers are brought to be booked under legal statutes.
