The land revenue department impacts the lives of common citizens massively everywhere in the country and the current efforts made by the government of J&K to modernise this department are highly admirable.
Standing in queues for days in order to get a revenue record from the concerned office is extremely agonising. Even the manual search of the required documents is equally tiresome and at times subject to human error.
This prevailing system in the revenue offices has not only affected the people who are always in search of better support from the officials but acted detrimental to the government treasury that suffers losses due to disorganization.
However, the government of Jammu and Kashmir UT has today taken a novel initiative wherein land passbooks will be allotted to the land owners. The passbook will contain all the requisite information related with the property & through a registration number the information can be received at any point of time.
The best part of this new revolutionary system is that all of the records pertaining to land of any owner shall be digitized and can be downloaded from the official portal of the Revenue Department.
It will commence a new change that can effectively mitigate the sufferings of common man whose precious time was always lost in an unending wait.
Furthermore, when every record will be uploaded online the chances of human tampering, frauds & bogus documentation will come down considerably. This new-fangled arrangement will encourage transparency, provide convenience to the people & save the government funds.
