MC President graced the occasion as a chief guest

Sopore : The 18th district Baramulla Chess Championship was held at Shah-e-Hamdan Sports Academy, Sopore that saw a good number of youth participating with great enthusiasm. On this occasion Municipal Council Sopore President Ms Masarat Kar was the chief guest.
The event was organized by District Baramulla Chess Association, affiliated to J&K State Chess Association and supported by Sports Council J&K.
The event saw participation of a large number of children and youth (including Boys and Girls) in different categories.
On the occasion MC President Masrat Rasool Kar appreciated the efforts of organisers for this championship where youth of Sopore got an opportunity to showcase their talent and use the championship as a stepping stone for national and international events.
Masrat said she will organise more such championships in her capacity and provide a platform to the youth of Sopore.
“Such sports events should be held throughout the year to hone the talent of our youth and also a platform is needed to fine tune the raw talent so that they can participate at national and international level. Our youth are no less talented but once given a chance they can do wonders,” Masrat added.
