Baramulla : The former president municipal councillor Baramulla Omar Kakroo on Saturday termed all the allegations of horse-trading as baseless and claimed Touseef Raina’s remarks about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a tactic to befool people.
He said that blaming BJP for the loss in no-confidence motion was a tactic to gain sympathy.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch Omar Kakroo said 12 elected councilors signed a no-confidence motion against Touseef Raina, for his failure in carrying out developmental works in the town.
“Targeting BJP, a time when councillors from Apni Party, Congress, Janta Dal together signed the no-confidence motion is useless and a tactic to gain sympathy. Wasn’t he elected as President MC Baramulla with full support of BJP,” Omar reacted.
Kakroo said that during his tenure he faced no-confidence motion two times and it’s all part and parcel of life.
“There is no need to take things personally but instead we all should focus towards development of our municipal areas and I believe that’s for what people elect us,” Kakroo added.
Omar further said that development for the town besides welfare of people is his priority and efforts will be made to make Baramulla a completely developed town.
Omar raises questions on the claims of Touseef Raina regarding the development of Baramulla. He said what kind of development the incumbent president claimed when everything was sanctioned during Omar’s tenure.
He, however, openly challenged him to come into debate regarding the clearance of his claim.
