Thane: Man strangulates wife to death for adding excess salt in ‘khichadi’
​Police arrived at the scene after being alerted and took the woman’s body to a local government hospital for a post-mortem, according to the official, who added that the police were investigating whether there was any other reason for the attack.

Thane: In yet another shocking incident, a woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband for adding excess salt to his breakfast. The incident was reported from the Bhayandar township in Maharashtra’s Thane district. The accused was arrested after the incident took place on Friday morning.

An official of the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar police commissionerate said that the accused has been identified as Nilesh Ghagh aged 46 and the deceased victim has been identified as Nirmala aged 40. At around 9:30 am on Friday, after getting infuriated,Nilesh strangulated her wife to death for adding excess salt in his ‘khichadi’, the official added. He also said that the accused used a long piece of cloth to kill his wife, news agency PTI

At Navghar police station in Bhayandar, a case was registered against the man under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 42-year-old woman died on Friday morning after allegedly being shot by her father-in-law apparently for not serving him breaking in time.

The incident took place at around 11.30 am on Thursday in the Rabodi area of Maharashtra’s Thane city. A complaint in this regard has been lodged by the family members of the victim at Rabodi police station.
