District Health Department Baramulla in collaboration with Piramal Foundation’s Aspirational District Collaborative (ADC) team organized a free health camp in Limber village of tehsil Boniyar on April 30.
The camp received a total of 1 53 patients and the medicines worth 50,000 INR were distributed free of cost among them.
The locals of the village thanked the organizers of the camp and requested them to hold more of such camps in future.
“It is not possible for every one to go to a
hospital in Baramulla, especially patients like me with minimal eye sight,” said an elderly person from the village. He added that doctors coming to his village is appreciable.
Rouf Rashid, a youth from Limber, said that the camp was beneficial for his community where people received free screenings and free medicines.
It is pertinent to mention that Gandhi
Fellows Younis Ahmad Kaloo and Saurav Kumar after spending considerable amount of time in their respective communities during their Community Immersion process, came up with an idea to hold a joint health camp.
They went to meet BMO Boniyar, Dr.
Parvaiz Masoodi, on April 25 with a
request to provide all possible support.
The BMO agreed to provide a National Mobile Medical Unit (vehicle), which is equipped with several testing facilities, along with doctors, paramedics, ASHA workers, and free medicines.
Program Leader Basharat Ali and Gandhi Fellows Younis Ahmad Kaloo and Saurav Kumar from ADC Team Baramulla were also present at the camp.
