A Welcome Tweet

Date:

The J&K government’s clarification with regard to disengagement of employees working under various schemes like Rehbar-e-Janglat, Rehbar-e-Zirat, Rehbar-e-Khel and National Youth Corp has brought a sigh of relief in hundreds of families who are directly or indirectly linked with these employees.

In a Tweet, DIPK J&K informed: “This is to clarify that the Govt of J&K has no plans to disengage employees who are working under Rehber-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and NYC scheme.” Earlier, there were reports that the government has decided to disengage all the employees working under Rehber-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and NYC scheme and the posts will be re-advertised.

Pertinently, the issue had drawn flak and a serious censure from almost all political parties calling the purported proposal of the administration to disengage such employees an arbitrary decision.

Earlier, different recommendations of a subcommittee framed by the J&K administration were doing rounds on social media in which different departments had categorically discussed abolition of the posts under these schemes besides referring these posts to the JK SSB for further re-advertisement and a direct recruitment.

While the government has clarified that there would be no disengagement, it needs to put the speculations about the recommendations put forth by the subcommittee on this subject to rest which otherwise suggest that the posts of all these schemes earmarked for regularization of these employees would be referred to the SSB for re-advertisement.

The administration in J&K needs not to trample the decisions taken by the erstwhile state cabinets who had launched these schemes to address the growing menace of unemployment especially the joblessness of the technically qualified youth of J&K.
