An eerie silence hung over the Gopalpora village of Kulgam on Tuesday morning when militants killed a female hindu school teacher metres away from the Government High School, Gopalpora.
Blood drenched shoes, a handbag and a body lying in a pool of blood was all that the Gopalpora village in Kulgam witnessed this morning. The killers of humanity shot dead a nation builder metres away from her students and colleagues.
Instead of the morning prayers by excited school going children echoing down the school’s assembly hall, the surroundings wore a different and deserted look. Few gunshot and blood was all over the lane. Soon after a few minutes, armed forces, police and journalists reached the spot. Wailing students, frightened teachers and eerie silence- it was no less than a doomsday at Government High School, Gopalpora. Locals were scared, no one was able to speak up. The threat of militants is looming around, with no one Knowing as who is next.
The horrifying killing of a female school teacher by militants in Kulgam is yet another dastardly attack on the Kashmir brotherhood.
Rajni Bala, wife of Raj Kumar, a Hindu teacher from Jammu’s Samba district, posted in Kashmir Valley’s Kulgam, was shot dead by militants just outside the school Tuesday morning. The seventh civilian killing in Kashmir this month.
Police said that militants fired from close range at female school teacher Rajni Bala, 36, around 10 a.m. The staff and students of the Government High School, Gopalpora in Kulgam were about to finish the morning assembly when militants intercepted Rajni Bala outside the school and shot at her.
Bala was shifted to a hospital in critical condition but died of her injuries. She was recruited under the Schedule Caste (SC) quota five years ago and was posted in Kashmir.
“The killers of Rajni have done a great disservice to humanity and in particular to Kashmir society. When you kill a nation builder, a teacher you snatch the right to education from our children. These killers want our kids to be illiterate, hence killing the teachers,” a local from Gopalpora said, wishing anonymity.
Locals in the area said that these killers didn’t killed a school teacher but the future of Kashmir and must be dealt with a heavy hand.
