Ahead of the celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Sura SOI Cycling Expedition team of the Indian Army today visited Suru Valley Public School in Kargil.
The expedition of the Indian army was started from Siachen War Memorial and will culminate at Kargil War Memorial in Drass to cover a distance of 508 kms.
The cycling expedition consist 15 cyclists that embarked on July 12, to reach Kargil War Memorial at Drass on July 23.
Ex EC Aga Syed Abass Rizvi, who was chief guest on the occasion, welcomed the Indian Army in Kargil. He said the cyclists of the Indian Army are a source of inspiration for school students.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisory Board member of the School, Nasir Shabani welcomed the chief guest Aga Syed Abass Rizvi, Army Cycling team and other guests.
He hailed the army for their contribution towards protecting the borders of the country.
