2 teachers teaching 70 students of six classes

ANANTNAG, Aug 4: Government Primary School Wahdan-Srigufwara in Anantnag district is facing staff shortage due to which students admitted in the school are suffering to hilt.
Some parents of students enrolled in this school told Kashmir Despatch that over 70 students are admitted in the school but there are only two teachers and it is difficult for them to manage the academic arrangements of the school.
A parent told Kashmir Despatch that during the Covid lockdown, four teachers of this school were available for online mode of teaching, but when offline classes started, two teachers were transferred to some other school.
The anguished parents said that students and teachers clean the school, as there is no sweeper to do it in the school. “We put forth our genuine demands before the higher ups several times but to no avail,” these parents told Kashmir Despatch.
They sought intervention of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Chief Education officer in this regard.
However, Chief Education Officer Anantnag told Kashmir Despatch that the concerned school head must write a letter to the department in this regard so that he can take up the issue with concerned quarters.
