Bandipora : Indian Army organized a trekking expedition from the pristine Gurez valley to to the Alpine Gadsar-Yamsar-Vishansar-Satsar lakes which was flagged off on 03 Sept 2022.
The aim of the trek was to open Gurez and Tulail valley as Trekking destinations to great lakes and to put Gurez and Tulail on the tourism map of Jammu & Kashmir.
17 trekkers which includes 14 locals and three trekkers from Mumbai based adventure company Wandering Boots Adventure participated in this exhilarating and never before initiative by the Indian Army in Gurez.
Many training activities, games, bonfire and exclusive open camp fire in the wilderness for trekkers were organised.
During the trek, locals were given training and classes about basic trekking capsules by Army and Wandering Boots Team.
The initiative is also aimed at promoting trekking expeditions in the Gurez valley as the area is blessed with numerous pristine and virgin treks and has now come up on the top priority list of the J&K Tourism.
Speaking to the Kashmir Depsatch locals said that“these small initiatives by the Army and the district administration will put Tulail on the tourism world map and connect the remote valley with the mainland “he added
