BANDIPORA, Sep 10: Residents of Nowgam block of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district have demanded a bank business unit in the area in order to ease out the sufferings of the local population.
Talking to the Kashmir Despatch, locals of the area said that the block has approximately 15 Villages, but the people have been deprived of a Bank facility which is creating a lot of difficulties for them.
“For routine work as well as for the basic requirements the Nowgam block which is the center to some 15 villages has been kept craving for the Bank facility,” the residents alleged adding that they have to go to Sumbal for banking purposes which is nearly five km’s from Nowgam.
The locals said that they approached the authorities many times for this demand but despite assurances, nothing positive has been done on the ground.
The residents appealed LG Manoj Sinha, district administration Bandipora to look into the matter and resolve their genuine grievances as soon as possible.
