SRINAGAR, Sep 12: A noted Islamic Scholar Muhammad Shaban Bhat, father of former Sales Tax Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Bhat passed away after a brief spell of illness at his residence in Shopian on Monday morning.
The deceased was the uncle of Secretary Labour and Employment Department Ajaz Ahmed Bhat (IAS). Late Bhat was known for his contribution in the education sector of South Kashmir particularly Shopian district. The Nimaz Jinaza of the deceased was offered at Central Hanfia Eid Gah court road Shopian at 10 am, where people from all walks of life participated in the funeral prayers.
