Sopore : Continuing its war against drugs and intensifying action against drug dealings, the Sopore police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have arrested two more persons, for their involvement in illegal drugs.
To trace the peddlers and prevent the sale of illegal drugs, Sopore police yet again succeed in arresting the two more persons in the town during a special naka which was launched at Chakrody Khan.
A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that during a special police team headed by IC PP Insp. Sajad Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Furqan Qadri intercepted a three wheeler load carried bearing registration number JK05 D 9395.
During the checking 9 kilograms of poppy straw were recovered from their procession.
The officer said in this regard two drug peddlers were held and are identified as Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Owais Bashir Shikari son of Bashir Ahmad Shikari both are residents of Sher colony Sopore.
The officer further said in this regard a case FIR No. 209/2022 U/S 8/15, 29 NDPS act stands registered at PS Sopore and further investigation has been set into motion.
