Father of 5-Daughters Drowns In River Jhelum in Baramulla, rescue operation launched

BARAMULLA, Sep 19 : In yet another incident if drowning reported in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after a young boy lost his life on Sunday, a man, father of five daughters drowned in river Jhelum today.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said father of five daughters on Sunday evening drowned in river Jhelum in Khadiniyar area of Baramulla when he was washing his car and suddenly slipped into the river.

Reports added soon after the incident locals, police and SDRF team reached the spot and started rescue operation to retrieve the body from the Jhelum, however, the search operation in the area was on when this report was being filed.

A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that Rafiq Ahmad Mir of Drangbal Baramulla Drowned in River Jhelum on Sunday evening, and efforts are on to retrieve his body from the river.

Pertinently, on Sunday a 17-year-old youth a resident of Baramulla was drowned in a nallah in Hardushiva area of Sopore, later upon launching a rescue operation police retrieved his body.
