Check Beyant village of Gurez seek construction of road

BANDIPORA, Sep 21: Hundreds of families at Check Beyant Village of Tulail valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district have been deprived of road connectivity.
The locals here accused political leaders of using them as vote bank and not being concerned about their genuine demands since decades.
Speaking with Kashmir Despatch over phone the residents said that the village has always been neglected on developmental front and no one among the political class has been ever seen concerned about the sufferings of the villagers.
“People in the locality are even deprived of road connectivity. What to talk about quality education or healthcare facilities here,” the locals told Kashmir Despatch.
“We still trek for three kilometers to reach the nearest road of Kilshay Tulail of Gurez,” Muzamil, a local resident, told Kashmir Despatch.
“We have to carry patients on a stretcher not only in winters but in summers almost upto three kilometers to reach the main road,” Abdul Rehman ward member of the village said to Kashmir Despatch.
“The population in this locality has always been used only as a “vote bank” by political leaders especially during elections and the politicians don’t show any concern after winning polls,” he added.
Accusing the officials for ignoring their pleas, residents demanded their issues should be resolved as soon as possible.
The residents appealed LG Manoj Sinha and District administration Bandipora to look into their genuine grievances and resolve them as soon as possible.
