PULWAMA, Oct 11: With each passing day, many young authors in Kashmir valley come up with interesting books, thereby inspiring others to develop their interest in writing, while many other writers continue to write irrespective of age & situation, by making tireless efforts from time to time.
Dr. Nisar Ahmad Bhat Trali (MBBS, MD), a 62-year-old author from South Kashmir’s Tral sub district, has served the health department in Kashmir for 35 years, and has written dozens of books on health concerns, besides other books on several other topics by travelling thousands of kilometers.
The author was appointed as Doctor (Medical Officer) in Jammu and Kashmir Health Services in 1985, and had started his service from a far off village in Tral sub division, before getting transferred to SKIMS Srinagar in 1989, as a resident doctor.
Talking to the Kashmir Despatch, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Trali said that he initially started a blood bank facility in Tral sub district in 1991, titled as Ikhlas Blood Bank & Medical Aid, after witnessing a firing incident, and had accordingly conducted many blood donation camps, to serve the people in need.
He said that he also conducted free medical camps at far off villages at that period of time, and accordingly managed to explore unexplored places to start his writing career.
The author then started writing books and travelled thousands of kilometers to collect details for filing few of his well known books (Including Ainah Tral, Ainah Madaris and Ainah Safri Aakhirat).
“The book Ainah Madaris took me five years to complete, while I travelled 22,000 kilometers and spent 10,00,000 in total to get it published. The book has 1550 pages,” Dr. Nisar said.
He further said that his another book, Ainah Tral has 644 pages, and is highlighting the historical places, health resorts, religious and other places of Tral (with 875 colored photos, particularly of 381 Masjid, 28 Gurdwara, and 12 Mandir).
Presently, the author has some registered institutions under the banner of Ikhlas Welfare Society, where from he has been voluntarily organising free medical camp, Hajj Tarbiyati programs, diabetic detection camps, Gusul Kafan Dafan Workshops, Free Legal Aid and Lok Adalat Awareness camps, giving religious education to poor and needy persons, and conducting many other workshops in colleges and other institutions. Besides that, he is presently ‘working on several other projects’.
As mentioned in his brochure, the author has played a vital role in providing relief to those families, who were affected due to fire incidents, while at the time of earthquake, he ‘had distributed rice among victims in quintals’.
