Kashmir continues to witness intense cold with metrological department predicting further decrease in the minimum temperature in the coming two days.
Speaking with Kashmir Despatch, director metrological department Srinagar, Sonam Lotus said that “further decrease in the minimum temperature can be expected in coming few days with temperature reducing in Srinagar as much as minus 4 °C.”
Sub-zero temperatures continued in valley with Srinagar recording a low of minus 3.1 °C on Monday. The previous night, Srinagar’s temperature was recorded at minus 3.2°C. The mercury was recorded lowest at minus 3.6°C on last Friday.
The winter solistice which brings the Chillai Kalan, is expected to start on a dry note, the MET predicted.
