Action will be taken against people, groups who have encroached government land in Sopore: Authorities

Sopore : The authorities has said that state land encroached or forcibly occupied by any member of a society, any group or any department will be retrieved and no one be allowed to take undue advantage of the power or situation in north Kashmir’s Sopore town.

The move came after Central Auqaaf Tarzoo Darnabal headed by Aijaz Ahmad Dar claimed that a land namely Noor Ghah has been encroached and the revenue generated from it goes to the pockets of few.

The Auqaaf Tarzoo Darnabal claim that the land in which Eidhah is constructed is in the documents of Tarzoo area but is being used by the other localities.

They appealed to the local administration to check the revenue details pertaining to the area.

BDC Chairperson Dr Fareeda Khan told media that nobody will be allowed to take advantage of the situation and the central government is very much aware of the situation.

“Any one found involved in encroaching the state land or taking over government land for personal use to fill pockets of few will not be left alone. Gone are the days of corruption and highhandedness,” she added.

When contacted Anjuman-Moinul-Islam, said that the land in their use isn’t encroached by any person and the socio religious group is available for any cooperation with the administration.
