Kupwara, Feb 26: In pursuance to annual sports calendar of activities, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara Nazir Ahmad Lone today inaugurated Inter Block (District Level) Competitions in the discipline of carom and chess for both boys and girls.
The inaugural ceremony held at Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara in which 450 students across 24 blocks participated. It was informed that the tournament will continue till 28th of February, at different places of the district. On the occasion, ADC hailed the initiative of the department and said that such events should be organized in regularly for promotion of sports in the district. While interacting with the players ADC urged them to focus on sports activities as long with academics to channelize their potential.
District Youth Services & Sports officer (DYSSO), Dr. Jatinder Sing; other field functionaries of the department besides students across various blocks participated in the inaugural ceremony.
