Sopore, Dec 16: In a decisive step towards enforcing accountability in public institutions, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, S.A Raina on Monday ordered action against officials found absent during a surprise inspection across several government institutions.
An official at the ADC office in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said that, to ensure punctuality and quality services in government offices, ADC Raina (JKAS) conducted a surprise visit to various offices, including the CDPO office in Dangiwacha, the Tehsil Social Welfare office, the Sub Treasury in Dangiwacha, and the Tehsil office in Watergam.
During the visit, the ADC discovered that several employees were unauthorizedly absent from the CDPO office, including Mr. Ali Mohd Shah, Senior Assistant, Mr. Parveez Ahmad Khwaja, Supervisor, Nazia Sofi, Supervisor, Parveena Bano, Supervisor, and Kiran Jeet Kour, Supervisor. Additionally, three employees in the Social Welfare office were also found to be absent.
The statement reads that ADC had directed the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) of the absent employees to seek explanations from the officials and to take appropriate action upon receiving their replies. This may include the deduction of half a day’s salary, along with an Action Taken Report (ATR) to be submitted.
Tese employees have been warned to remain cautious and punctual in the future. The deducted salary will be credited to the DRCF account the statement further reads.
