Srinagar, Feb 4, : Hajj aspirants from Kashmir, who were not included in the selection list this year, are in catch twenty situation, after Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi announced that all those who were left out of the list, will also be allowed to go on the annual pilgrimage. He said this while he visited valley last month.
Several such Hajj aspirants, whose names are not included the selection list, visited news agency office and said that they are in a state of uncertainty due to the inaction and silence of Hajj Committee, which has not so far come clear on the issue.
While those, whose names are included in the selection list have already asked to deposit money, by the Hajj Committee and they are by now in the state of preparations to set out on the Holy journey, those who have been left out, have been approaching Hajj Office to come clear on the issue, after the statement of the Union Minister Naqvi.
An aspirant from Tral Nazir Ahmed said, “We are in a state of dilemma, as we don’t know whether we will be allowed to go or not.”
Another one from Awantipora Abdul Rashid said, “If Minister has come on record to include us in the list, then why Hajj office is silent on the issue.”
They should come out with their plans and if they are taking us, then they should announce it now, as if the announcement gets late, then we will be left with no time to make preparations’, added another aspirant from Noorpora.
They requested the Hajj office authorities to take a call on the issue on priority basis and come out with their decision, whether they are going to put the announcement of Naqvi into practically or not.
“Our demand is to do it immediately, so that we are relieved of the mental trauma that we are facing due to uncertainty that we are faced with due to delay of Hajj authorities to come clear on the issue”, they added further. (CNS)
