‘Suleman Choudhary DIG NKR gets additional charge of DIG CKR’
Srinagar, Feb 01 : After senior IPS officer SP Pani proceeded on central deputation, another police officer Vidhi Kumar Birdi has proceeded on deputation to join the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
According to wire service—, the J&K government’s Home department has relieved him of the charge of deputy inspector general of police, Central Kashmir range, to enable him to take up the new assignment.
“Consequent upon the approval of the competent authority to the induction of Vidhi Kumar Birdi, DIG, CKR, Srinagar as Deputy Inspector General in National Investigation Agency on deputation for a period of five years w.e.f the date of assumption of the charge of the post , or till further orders, whichever is earlier, he is hereby relieved to enable him to take up the new assignment,” reads the order issued by Principal Secretary Home, Shaleen Kabra.
As per the order available with news agency, M. Suleman Choudhary, I/C, DIG, North Kashmir Range, Baramulla, shall hold the charge of the post of CKR Srinagar, till further orders, which shall be in addition to his own duties.
With this, the number of police officers from J&K on deputation with Centre and other States has gone up to 17.
Before Birdi, senior IPS officer SP Pani proceeded on central deputation to join Research & Analysis Wing. Birdi will be the second officer from Jammu and Kashmir to be on deputation with NIA empowered to probe militancy-related incidents. Viplav Kumar Choudhary, IPS officer of 1997 batch, is on deputation with NIA from September 2017. (KNO)
