Army Organises Bike Rally from Kupwara to Macchal

Kupwara : Indian Army on Friday Organised a bike rally from Kupwara to Line of control of Macchal Sector.

According to statement, “The Rally saw enthusiastic participation from 28 bikers from the Kashmir Valley while six bikers from Nashik who call themselves Cruising Godz traversed across 2190 km through seven states to participate in this unique bike rally.

The rally was flagged off by Maj Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, YSM, GOC, 28 Inf Div from Parcham-e- Hind at Kupwara. The GOC himself led the rally in a bike named Vajr-1 before seeing them off towards Machhal. The Kupwara – Z Gali leg of the rally was led by Commander 53 Infantry Brigade in bike named Z Gali- 1. Indian Army women officer Lt Col Ambika Jodha also participated in this leg. While Major Chetan Pradhan is leading the Z Gali – LoC leg. Overall the rally is covering a distance of 65 Km from Kupwara to the LoC in Machhal Sector and is passing through exotic locales of Z Gali, Machhal, Dudi and T Suntwari.

The Rally aims to promote spirit of adventure amongst the youths. It also connects the youths of Nashik with that of the Valley thus fostering National Integration. Such rallies also promote border tourism and will expose exotic locales of pristine Machhal Valley to tourists. The rally will culminate in a grand Iftar party in the evening at Machhal, statement added.
