Pune NGO’s Collaborative Projects with Indian Army in Conflict Zones Earn Government Recognition
New Delhi : A delegation from Pune’s Aseem Foundation, led by President Sarang Gosavi, met with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai, to discuss their transformative initiatives in conflict-affected regions.
The meeting underscored the critical role of grassroots organizations in advancing women’s empowerment amid persistent challenges in employment and socio-economic participation.
Amid nationwide concerns over barriers to women’s workforce inclusion, the Aseem Foundation has emerged as a beacon of progress. Through collaborative projects with the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland, Maharashtra, and other regions, the NGO has empowered women to lead community development efforts—from skill-building programs to education drives and micro-enterprise hubs.
During the interaction, the delegation—comprising women beneficiaries and organizers—shared firsthand accounts of how these initiatives have fostered self-reliance in marginalized communities. “When dedication meets structured support, it creates ripples of change,” said Gosavi, highlighting stories of women in conflict zones transitioning from survival to leadership roles, inspiring others to follow suit.
Minister Nityanand Rai lauded the Foundation’s innovative partnership model with the Indian Army, calling it “a blueprint for inclusive nation-building.”
He praised the women’s resilience, noting, “Your efforts align with the government’s vision of ‘Nari Shakti’ as the cornerstone of development.”
Rai assured continued institutional support to scale such programs, emphasizing their potential to bridge gaps in regional stability and economic equity.
