BARAMULLA, Dec 23: In an effort to promote holistic health practices and educate the public on the benefits of Ayush systems of medicine, the Department of Ayush, Baramulla, organized an Awareness cum Health Check-up and Yoga Camp at Government Degree College, Kreeri. The camp was conducted under the IEC/BCC component of the National Ayush Mission.

Led by District Ayush Officer, Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Khan, the event sought to create awareness about Ayush practices, provide free health check-ups, and demonstrate the therapeutic benefits of yoga. A dedicated team of Ayush experts and yoga instructors facilitated the camp, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff.

The team comprised Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ahanger, Dr. Syed Noor Bukhari, Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Dar, Dr. Masrat Shireen, and Dr. Tabassum, along with paramedical staff members Sajad Ahmad Bukhari, Nazir Ahmad Khan, and Sahil Ahmad. Yoga instructors Showkat Ahmad, Irshad Ahmad, and Waseem Ahmad conducted practical sessions on yoga asanas and breathing techniques.

During the camp, Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Khan emphasized the importance of incorporating Ayush practices into daily life for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being. He also advised students to steer clear of drug abuse and adopt healthier lifestyle choices.

Special awareness sessions addressed common health concerns. Dr. Syed Noor Bukhari discussed the management of common winter ailments through Ayush systems of medicine. Dr. Masrat Shireen provided guidance on Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD), while Dr. Tabassum highlighted the role of Ayush practices in addressing lifestyle disorders.

The camp also included free health check-ups for attendees, where individuals received personalized advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through natural and holistic methods.

The event drew the presence of notable figures, including Dr. Akhtar Hussain Naik, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Wani, and Ab Hamid Lone, further boosting its impact.
The Department of Ayush, Baramulla, reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar programs across the district to ensure greater public access to Ayush practices and health benefits. This initiative aligns with the National Ayush Mission’s goal of fostering a healthier and more aware society.
The Directorate of Ayush, Jammu and Kashmir, extended its support to the event, reiterating the significance of Ayush systems in promoting well-being.
