BANDIPORA, Apr 24: The residents of Gujjarpati village of Kanbathi area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday expressed severe resentment against the authorities for failing to provide them with roads since independence.
Speaking with the Kashmir Despatch, one of the local residents Mohammad Lateef said that the government is making tall claims of providing basic amenities to far flung areas but, “we have been forgotten since independence.”
“We were used as vote banks by our politicians. They visited us only in times of elections. We are suffering without proper road connectivity,” Nissar Ahmad, a local resident, said.
“We carry our patients on a cot not only in winters but in summers also due to the absence of road connectivity,” Aisha, a local woman said. The residents appealed LG Administration, District Administration Bandipora to look into their sufferings and resolve their genuine issues as soon as possible.
