Baramulla : A man from north Kashmir’s Baramulla working against corruption under banner of JK Corruption Free arrested by police in corruption case.
Police in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said acting swiftly on a complaint filed by one lady(name with held) Baramulla Police arrested one fraudster namely Mohd Shafi Bhat S/O Gh Mohd Bhat R/O Iqbal Colony Old Town Baramulla C/O Pakeeza Textiles Baramulla and recovered an amount of Rs 50000 from his possession which he had taken from complainant for release of his son namely Shabir Ahmad Teli S/O Late Gh Mohd R/O Banglaw Bagh Baramulla from police custody who was arrested by Police on 07/01/2021 in case FIR No. 218/2020 under section 7/25 Arms Act, 18/ 19/ 20/ 39 U A (P) Act and presently lodged in Dist Jail Rajouri۔ The complainant in her compliant has stated that the fraudster has not helped in anyway against the complainant in releasing her son.
Later the fraudster has issued fake cheques in favour of the complainant which got bounced thus duped and cheated this widow & poverty ridden 80 year old woman without any courtesy.
Regardless to mention that the fraudster posing as social activist remains very active on social media thus giving an impression of a responsible citizen with intent to target gullible masses. General public is requested not to fell prey to such deceptions.
The accused has been remanded to Police custody by Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge Baramulla till 05/05/2022 the statement further reads.
Pertinently, The said man was often seen raising issues regarding corruption in Jammu and Kashmir under the banner of JK Corruption.
