Baramulla, Jun 15 : Residents of Ushkwara area of Baramulla in north Kashmir on Saturday staged a protest against the municipal council Baramulla (MC) for allegedly establishing a garbage dump in the area.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said scores of people of Ushkwara Baramulla on Saturday staged a protest against municipal council Baramulla alleging that the department dumps the garbage in open near their homes.
It becomes very difficult for residents to pass from the spot due to the dumped garbage by MC Baramulla in their area said group of protestors to Kashmir Despatch, added that this is unacceptable and will go for bigger strike if authorities will not take action soon.
Protesting residents while raising slogans against local Auqaf Committee of Ushkwara said that they hardly bother to work for the development and for the welfare of people of this village.
While targeting local Auqaf Committee, the protesters said that only time of functions these Auqaf Committee members are visible on ground after that they are missing. The protesters said with their improper and lack of Intrest for this village, they are yet to see any development.
However,the protesting residents appealed Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to intervene into the issue sothat they will not suffer more.
Meanwhile authorities at MC Baramulla when told Kashmir Despatch told that department will look into the issue.
