Baramulla, Jan 27 : What has really changed after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir? The mindset of the youth has shifted from distraction to ambition, enabling them to achieve great heights and make the state proud at both national and international levels, especially in sports.
In a recent development, Baramulla sculptor Zahoor Ahmad led the Indian team to make the whole country proud by clinching third place at the International Snow Sculpture Championship.
Taking Exclusively with Kashmir Despatch, Zahoor Ahmad, a resident of Singpora Pattan stated that we were a four-member team that I led, he said worked tirelessly for four consecutive days in freezing temperatures ranging from -25 to -35 degrees Celsius.
Zahoor said that we faced very hard times during those four days, but we never lost hope and continued our efforts passionately to bring glory to our country.
He stated that, despite facing freezing temperatures and time constraints, my team worked diligently and transformed a massive block of snow into a breathtaking masterpiece titled ‘Mind in Meditation.’

Zahoor highlighted that our efforts in creating the snow sculpture ‘Mind in Meditation’ impressed the judges and spectators, ultimately securing us third place in the championship.
He said that the five judges on the panel took more than six hours to evaluate 12 snow sculptures, with India achieving third place, while Germany ranked first and Mexico second among teams from the US, Finland, Canada, Mongolia, South Korea, Argentina, and Turkey.
“I am truly at a loss for words to express the immense joy I feel in achieving success on an international level and representing my beloved motherland, Kashmir.” he said.

He emphasized that nothing is impossible; only hard work and effort can help one achieve anything. The people here in Kashmir, especially the youth, should not hold back, as we have great talent and skills. We should come forward to make our country proud.
The competition was held in Breckenridge, Colorado, from January 20th to 24th and featured 12 teams from around the world.
