Sopore, July 31 : On the directions of worthy District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Shri Minga Sherpa (IAS), the Sheep Husbandry Department,Baramulla organized a free medicine distribution-cum-awareness program under the National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) at Rampur Rajpora.
The camp aimed to bridge the gap in veterinary healthcare services in far-flung areas and ensure that livestock owners have access to quality healthcare for their animals. Over 80 breeders from the area attended the camp.
Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dangerpora, Dr. Saima Mushtaq, welcomed the participants and emphasized the role of livestock husbandry in uplifting the rural economy.
Dr Irfan Ahmad highlighted the importance of various schemes and programs, including HADP, ISDS, RKVY, and the online application process.
Dr Junaid Ahmad (Technical officer) conducted awareness sessions on disease prevention, proper nutrition, and regular veterinary care.
Refreshments were also provided to participants who appreciated the public outreach program, noting that such camps provide much-needed support in regions where services are scarce.
The department plans to continue organizing these camps across various rural areas, especially the higher reaches, as part of its commitment to enhance veterinary healthcare and awareness under NADCP.
The camp concluded with a vote of thanks from the officers and officials on behalf of the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Baramulla.
