Bandipora, May 05 : The absence of mobile network connectivity in three border villages in the Tehsil area of Gurez has caused suffering to people.
According to the locals, Kilshay, Zedgey and Kashpath villages lack mobile network connectivity, forcing residents to travel long distances in order to make a phone call.
Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the locals also expressed their frustration at the fact that despite mobile network connectivity being widely available throughout the country, their villages still lack the basic facility. This has resulted in a host of challenges for the residents of these villages, they added.
Ehsaan Ahmad, a local, stated that the villagers have been requesting a mobile tower for quite some time now.
He added that the lack of mobile network connectivity has a severe impact on students in the area.
“We feel cut off from the rest of the world. Our peers in other parts of the country have access to the latest information at their fingertips, we struggle to even make a phone call. It’s disheartening to see how the lack of mobile network connectivity is holding us back from realizing our full potential,” a group of students said while urging the authorities to provide them with mobile connectivity—(KNO)
