Bandipora, 13 Nov: Residents of Aragam in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district held a candlelight march in response to the recent death of a civilian from Naidkhai, Bandipora. The woman, who was injured in a grenade attack at the TRC in Srinagar, later succumbed to her injuries.
The peaceful march saw participation from local residents, former sarpanchs, students, and members of civil society. Participants voiced strong disapproval of the attack, describing it as an act contrary to human values. The procession began near Higher Secondary Aragam and concluded at Aragam’s main chowk, where attendees offered their condolences to the families affected by the incident.
Expressing their discontent with the violence, protesters emphasized the injustice of targeting civilians. One participant stated, “These killings must not go unpunished. Taking innocent lives is a grave wrongdoing.”
The candlelight march served as a moment of unity, with the Bandipora community coming together to condemn the violence and extend support to the bereaved families.
