Bandipora, May 25: Government forces on Monday evening launched Cordon and Search Operation in south Kashmir’s Twin villages.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that a joint team of government forces including army’s 53 RR,J&K Police and other paramilitary forces launched cordon and search operation in Hanzwani Mohalla Rahmoo and Putrigam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Local sources said that huge contingents of forces have been deployed in the areas and door to door search operation is on at both places.
Official sources also confirmed both incidents to this newspaper and said, the searches were launched following inputs about the movements of some suspected militants.
The search operation in the twin villages were going on when the last reports came in.
Earlier Day Gunfight
It is pertinent to mention here that a gunfight was broke out on Monday afternoon between militants and Government forces in at Khud Hanjipora area of district Kulgam in which two militants were killed.
Police Version
Police in a statement said, 02 unidentified Militants were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. The identification and affiliation of the killed Militants are being ascertained.
Due to efforts of the Police and security forces, it was a clean operation and no collateral damage took place during the encounter. In this connection case FIR No. 25/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Manzgam and investigation has been initiated.
