‘World Apple Conference’ to be held in Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 01 : A delegation from Sopore Apple Farmer Producer Company (J&K), which is organizing a maiden World Apple Conference in Srinagar held a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Chairman Sopore Apple Producer Company (J&K) Adil Malik said that the top official assured them support to the maiden conference scheduled on June 24- 25 at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC), Srinagar. He is likely to attend the conference, said Adil.

Dulloo was briefed about the issues being faced by the Horticulture industry, especially apple trade and he assured them fruit-laden and vegetable trucks would be given priority on highways to prevent losses.

Adil said Dullo told them to provide registration numbers and paste stickers on their consignments so that they may be given priority on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

The two day ‘World Apple Conference’ is being organized by Sarhad, a Pune based NGO and Sopore Apple Farmer Producer Company (J&K), which aims to further empower and strengthen the apple growers of Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
