COLLEGE OF TEMPERATE SERICULTURE, SKUAST-KASHMIRFLAGGED OFF ONE WEEK RURAL EXPLORATION PROGRAMME

On 5th of September College of Temperate Sericulture Mirgund flagged off seven days Rural Exploration Programme for U.G Students of sericulture.

The primary objective of the programme which was flagged by jointly Prof. K.A.Sahaf and Prof. Zia-Ul-Haque Rufaie and sponsored by IDP NAHEP is to infuse in the minds of students the difficulties faced by rural population in the pursuit of earning livelihood by putting in hard labour and strenuous effort.

During the programme students shall share time with people of the area to be visited and have firsthand experience about their living conditions which is expected to inculcate in them the sense of managing affairs under stress conditions and bravely face the odds of life. Prof M.F.Baqual Associate Dean of the college while thanking Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie for supporting these programs stressed upon the students to get maximum benefit out of the programme and extend full cooperation to stakeholders and come out with detailed report about the possible help which be extended to them in the field of sericulture.

He also thanked DrFirdousAhmad Malik and DrShabir Ahmad Wani who are escorting students and also appreciated role of other participating scientists and other staff members
