Pulwama, Jun 04 : Member of Parliament from Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi on Wednesday chaired a district development review meeting in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, where he addressed a range of public concerns.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, MP Ruhullah emphasized the urgent need to restore Constituency Development Funds (CDFs) for elected representatives.

“These funds are essential tools for legislators to address local developmental needs and public issues at the grassroots level,” he said. “Without CDFs, meaningful and direct development remains stalled.”

Aga Ruhullah also raised alarm over the termination of government employees, asserting that the practice should have been discontinued long ago.

He criticized the lack of clarity and transparency in the process, stating that such actions deeply affect the morale and trust of the public workforce.

“There needs to be accountability and transparency when it comes to decisions that affect people’s livelihoods. He said that the government must be questioned on what basis they have been doing and who has the authority to do it.

“People have the right to know who holds the authority to terminate government employees and on what grounds. It is time the government comes clean and clears this confusion,” he said.

He said after the recent Pahalgam incident RSS has created such an environment due to which Kashmir people are being assaulted at several places though the majority aren’t doing it but RSS continues to assault people of Kashmir and even their rights.

Asked about reservations in Ladakh, he said that Ladakh still wants the pre-2019 as they want to be part of Jammu and Kashmir with the same share.

During the meeting, several ongoing and pending developmental projects, infrastructure gaps, and public grievances were brought to his attention. MP Ruhullah assured the participants that these issues would be raised in the appropriate forums to seek prompt resolution—(KNO)
