DC inaugurates cricket tournament organised by KNS in Budgam

Budgam, Sept 20 : Deputy Commissioner Budgam Akshay Labroo on Wednesday declared KNS Kashmir Cricket Championship open at district sports stadium, while KNS editor Mohammad Aslam was also present on the occasion.

The cricket tournament is being organised by Kashmir News Service (KNS) Media Group in collaboration with district Youth Services and Sports Budgam.

Speaking on the occasion, DC welcomed the participants and appreciated them to give their best during competitions.

He appreciated the organisers for organising such events and promoting sports culture among the youth. “Sports is best antidote to counteract drug menace and save our youth from falling prey to the peddlers.”

He said that the Budgam has abundant sports talent with youth full of aspirations and creativity to create niche in sports and in other fields.

DC said that the administration is committed to develop best possible sports infrastructure in the district to provide adequate resources and platform to the youth to polish their talent.

He said besides infrastructure development in other areas, sports stadium Budgam will see a major development very shortly.

“All things are done and tenders for beautification and upgradation of sports stadium Budgam have been uploaded and work on the same shall start soon,” he said.

He further said that all major requirement including sports fields, turfs, matting and other facilities shall be established in all required areas and dedicated to our youth as early as possible.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Budgam Balbir Singh Sodhi and others were also present on the occasion. (KNS)
