Modi’s vision won maiden seats for BJP in Kashmir: Vibodh

Srinagar, Dec 22,: Ruling Bhartiya Janata Party opened its account in District Development Council elections in Kashmir Valley by bagging Balhama seat in Srinagar outskirts.
BJP face in Khonmou Block Ajaz Hussain won the seat by a margin of 442 votes defeating his rival Jammu Kashmirir Apni Party candidate Ghulam Hasan who was polled 381 votes while BJP’s Ajaz Hussain secured 823 votes.
The victory of Hussain had become clear after he managed the hidden support from a top Shia cleric. The constituency represented by Hussain is Shia dominated.
Ajaz Hussain after the victory said he will work for his people and Development will always be on his agenda. He thanked people and top BJP campaigners including Maktar Abas Naqvi and Shahnawaz Hussin.
BJP in Kashmir province also bagged Tulail seat in far flung Gurez area. This constituency falls in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district and the candidate is Ajaz Ahmed Khan. Official announcement about his victory was still awaited.
In militancy infested South Kashmir, BJP candidate has secured a seat. BJP won this seat from Kakapora Block of Pulwama. BJP had won 3 seats from Kashmir till the filing of this report.
BJP Spokesman Altaf Thakur lost Dadsara South Kashmir seat by a thin margin.
Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration candidates along with Independent candidates were leading in most of the constituencies in Valley while BJP seems to be at forefront in Jammu.
Meanwhile, Congratulating party worker BJP J&K general secretary and in charge Kashmir Vibodh Gupta said that BJP Kashmir has scripted history by recording three victories in the valley in the first-ever DDC elections. He said that the people of Kashmir exhibited their faith in Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Naya Kashmir and Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas adding that this victory marks a ‘change of wave’ in the valley. “This victory belongs to the party workers of Kashmir who have shed their blood and made the sacrifice of their lives vowing a tough battle against terrorism”, he added. He also credited the victory to the BJP’s organizational general secretary Ashok Koul for his continuous efforts and endeavours in the valley.
BJP’s maiden three victories in DDC elections in Kashmir speak of two stories – one of a conquest by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking the beginning of new era in valley and the other of conveying a strong message to Gupkar Gang that the end of their communal and divisive politics is near, Vibodh said.
Gupta strongly asserted that this is the beginning of the end of terrorism, Gupkar Gang and separatism from the valley. He maintained that this is the victory of Modi’s vision, aspiration of common people of the valley and BJP’s Kashmir Karyakartas, he added.
Vibodh added that the election results are a foundation of Naya Kashmir and Modi’s vision is winning Kashmir. He said that PM Modi led from the front to give Kashmir a vision and youth have also espoused the cause of new and prosperous J&K by voting BJP’s DDC candidates in Kashmir.
