Bandipora, Dec 16: In the 7th Phase of DDC elections across J&K, the two blocks in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday witnessed the record breaking polling of total 70.47 percent.
While divulging details an official told Kashmir Despatch that polling was held in twin blocks, Naidkhai and Hajin C of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.
He said that 72.46 % votes were polled for Naidkhai DDC seat while as 68.52 % for Hajin C, DDC seat adding that due to the high voter turnout final update is yet to come voting was held beyond stipulated time of 2 pm at some places.
Pertinently, 21 were candidates in fray for these two DDC seats. Moreover, 47 candidates were contesting for 14 vacant Sarpanchs seats while as 275 candidates were contesting against 119 Panch seats and the total number of 119 polling stations were set up in these two blocks of Bandipora.
