Srinagar, Jul 20 : Family of the Srinagar man whose body was retrieved from river Jhelum on Tuesday, have appealed to the Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar to deliver justice to them by bringing to book the culprits involved in the crime.
Alleging one Ashiq Ahmad of murdering Shameem Ali, the family as per GNS said that police should expedite the investigations into the matter and send the alleged culprit behind the bars. The alleged person, as per the family, tortured and forced Shameem to take an extreme step.
Rubeena Begum, wife of Shameem Ali, said that a person namely Aashiq Ahmad was torturing her husband for a very long as he had borrowed money from him. He (Shameem) couldn’t bear it and thus was compelled to take the extreme step.
“We urge Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Rakesh Bhalwal to expedite the investigations to deliver justice and send the accused behind the bars”, the family said.
The family members, including mother of the deceased, in the meantime expressed their gratitude to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for his help in the matter.(GNS)
