Baramulla, July 19: The Azad Gunj to Khandniyar road in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district is currently experiencing severe problems as a result of its deteriorated condition.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said the road, which serves as a crucial transportation route for the residents in the area, has suffered from duplicated surfaces and numerous potholes. This has led to immense inconvenience and difficulties for the people who rely on this road for their daily commuting needs.

Ghulam Nabi, a local resident, told Kashmir Despatch that the duplicated condition of the road has caused a multitude of problems.

He said the presence of potholes has further exacerbated the situation, posing a risk to road safety and resulting in frequent vehicle breakdowns and accidents.

Sajad Hussain, another resident, told this newspaper that the poor road condition has negatively impacted the area, and as a result, our relatives in other areas even stop visiting us due to the worst condition of the road.

He said local authorities have been urged to take swift action to address this issue so that they will get a sign of relief.

AzadGung to Khandiniyar road was constructed under PMGSY, but has been in very bad condition since past years, with local administration failing to repair it despite locals many urgings.

Meanwhile, the residents once again requested that the concerned authorities, as well as DC Baramulla, intervene in this serious issue.
